LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY
The Lord of the Rings movies are some of the most famous fantasy films, inspiring other universes such as Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Game of Thrones. The books were written by J.R.R. Tolkien, who began writing The Hobbit before World War I, but had to set it aside until after the war. He then wrote the prequel, The Lord of the Rings, which was published after World War II. Peter Jackson directed the three films, which were released consecutively over three years. The main actors in the films are Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins), Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee), Dominic Monaghan (Meriadoc Brandybuck), Billy Boyd (Peregrin Took), Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn), Sean Bean (Boromir), Orlando Bloom (Legolas), John Rhys-Davies (Gimli), and Ian McKellen (Gandalf).
All the actors did a fantastic job, but I want to highlight the performances of Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, and Sean Bean, who I think played the most captivating characters in the films. The trilogy's soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard, with powerful music that enhances the emotional impact of the movie's events.
THE BEST SCENES (LOTR)
The charge of the Rohirrim
I also chose this scene as one of the best in the trilogy because it gave me goosebumps. It is also an epic and memorable scene. In this scene, the Rohirrim, led by King Théoden, ride to the aid of Gondor as the forces of Sauron march towards the city of Minas Tirith. Before charging down the hill to fight, King Theoden delivers a powerful and epic speech to encourage his troops and inspire fearlessness in them, reminding them of their duty to fight for their land and people. We can also see Théoden's leadership and how he sets an example to follow in the battlefield.
The battle of the fortress of Helm's Deep
I chose the scene at the Fortress of the Helm's Deep as one of the best in the trilogy, mainly because it's very epic. In this scene, we see how the King of Rohan has lost hope in the face of the massive army of Uruk-Hai that has invaded the fortress. But Aragorn encourages the King of Rohan, Théoden, to make a final ride with him to fight and die against the hordes of enemies. Then, as the sun rises above a cliff, Gandalf arrives with a group of Rohirrim warriors to reinforce the defenders. The Rohirrim charge down the hill towards the enemy, and as they do, the sun appears behind them, symbolizing the divine justice of good triumphing over evil.
